Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies VilliQ actually uses. We do not use any that are not described here.

1. Cookies

VilliQ sets one type of cookie: a sign-in session cookie, set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in between visits. This cookie is strictly necessary — VilliQ does not work without it, and it cannot be switched off from within the app. We do not use any advertising, cross-site tracking, or analytics cookies.

2. Local Storage

Separately from cookies, your browser's local storage — data kept on your device rather than sent with every request — is used for:

  • A theme preference — whether you have chosen light or dark mode.
  • A "tour dismissed" flag — so the dashboard walkthrough does not reappear once you have seen it.
  • An install-prompt counter — so the "Install VilliQ" prompt does not reappear every visit once you have dismissed it.
  • In-progress form drafts — if you are filling out a form while offline, your entries are held locally until the connection returns and the form submits, then cleared.

None of this is sent to VilliQ's servers or shared with anyone else, and none of it is used to track you across other websites.

3. Offline App Support

If you install VilliQ or use it as a Progressive Web App, your browser also uses cache storage to keep the app's own code available offline, and a small local database to record when a page failed to load while you were offline, so we can improve reliability. Neither stores your property, occupant, or payment data for offline tracking purposes, and neither is shared with any third party.

4. What We Don't Use

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no analytics service of any kind is installed in VilliQ today. If that changes, this page will change first.

5. Managing Cookies and Local Storage

You can block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings, but the sign-in cookie is required for VilliQ to work — blocking or clearing it will sign you out, and clearing local storage will reset preferences like your theme choice.

6. Changes to This Policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when it changes.
